Urban Health Plan (UHP) is proud to introduce its Community Psychiatry Residency Program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
UHP’s Community Psychiatry Residency Program trains physicians to become skilled, inclusive, and culturally responsive clinicians who understand and respond with empathy to the needs of under-resourced communities.

As a community-based program, we are committed to meeting people where they are, and our holistic approach integrates mental health advocacy and family-based treatment across all care settings.
Our goal is to prepare highly skilled, culturally competent practitioners who are:
At Urban Health Plan, our residents gain more than clinical training—they become part of a mission-driven community health movement.
Urban Health Plan is the sponsoring organization and the central hub of the Psychiatry Residency Program, and residents also benefit from rich clinical experiences through our hospital partnerships:
These partnerships expand resident training opportunities, complementing UHP’s community-based sites across the Bronx, Queens, and Harlem.
